A car accident lawyer may be needed after a woman turned up dead following a tragic collision involving at least three vehicles in the Athens city of Georgia. The fatal crash took place on the evening of Saturday, May 2.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police, the crash was called in at about 5 pm and involved a 1991 Chevrolet Caprice and a 2004 Ford-150, which collided at South Ridge Drive, leading to a subsequent collision.

Investigations conducted on the site of the crash revealed that one of the vehicles, a Chevrolet, moving through Jefferson River Road (U.S. 129), suddenly pulled into South Ridge Drive, and onto the path of a northbound Ford pickup.

The impact of the collision caused the truck to slide off course and spiral out of control, coming to rest only after it smashed into a 2019 Toyota RAV4 on its path.

An elderly passenger in the Toyota suffered critical injuries in the traffic accident and was taken by paramedics to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

The elderly woman, later identified as Violet Sprinkles, a 79-year-old resident of Nicholson, sadly succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police said the Toyota was driven by 53-year-old Brenda Pettus of Nicholson, who also suffered severe injuries in the crash. Her condition was not disclosed.

No information was released regarding the other two motorists involved in the crash that caused Sprinkles’ demise.

A car accident lawyer can help victims of traffic collisions secure maximum compensation for damages while ensuring that justice is served.
