One of the fatal victims of a car crash in Las Vegas, Nevada, has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. Updates made to the car accident report on Monday, August 17th, revealed the victim’s name as Artajha Smith, 28.
The other two fatal victims’ identities remain unknown, but the report revealed that an adult and a child died. The crash happened a little after 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 13th, on Interstate 15. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said that a car cut across lanes of traffic and through a no-traffic zone.
The vehicle struck a pickup towing an off-road vehicle, and the force of the collision caused the second vehicle to go over a freeway wall. Both automobiles caught fire, leading to the fatalities. The police did not indicate the car Smith traveled in.
The crash led to the closure of the northbound ramp lanes from I-15 to the northbound US 95. There is no additional information.
Avoiding a car accident is not difficult, especially if motorists prioritize safety and follow safety tips. They include pulling into traffic slowly, stopping, listening, and being aware of blind spots, especially when traveling behind semi-trucks or trailers.
Count to three before entering an intersection on a green light, and look both ways to ensure no one is trying to beat a yellow light. Keep at least one hand on the steering, watch out for kids, and maintain the vehicle regularly.
