A motorcycle attorney would be useful following the identification of a man who got struck by a DUI motorist while riding a motorcycle along a roadway in Tucson, Arizona. The Tucson Police Department, on Sunday, May 17, named the fatal victim as 36-year-old Cory Troutman.

The deadly crash happened at night on Friday, May 15. officers from the midtown division, along with Tucson Fire Department personnel responded at a location near the area of 22nd Street and Swan Road, on reports of a two-vehicle accident that left a motorcyclist in critical condition.

On-site investigations revealed that the traffic wreck involved a 2009 Toyota Scion passenger vehicle and a 2004 Harley-Davidson Road Bike. The motorbike was reportedly westbound on 22nd Street, with Troutman as its only occupant.

At the same time, the red Scion was traveling through the east lanes on 22nd. Police said the passenger car was negotiating a left turn onto Swan Road, to join the northbound lanes, it drove onto the path of the westbound motorcycle. According to the TPD reports, the green signal on the traffic light on 22nd was up for east and westbound traffic when the Scion drove in front of the motorcycle and caused the collision.

Medics transported the motorcyclist to Banner University Medical Center, where he died barely 24 hours later.

Meanwhile, the driver of the passenger car stayed at the scene until police arrived. Upon investigation, a DUI officer determined the motorist, Karen Burgan, 55, was intoxicated.

Deputies took Burgan into custody on charges of DUI and aggravated assault. Police may include additional charges following Troutman’s death.
