The victim in a motorcycle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon has been identified.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the victim is 51-year-old Aaron Reily. The accident occurred on Wednesday February 26 when a car struck and killed a motorcyclist near near 31st Avenue and Bell Road.
Reily was traveling west on Bell Road, according to a press release from the Phoenix Police. The car, a Dodge Charger, was attempting to make a left turn to proceed north on 31st Avenue. The driver of that car failed to yield to Reily.
The identity of the person driving the car has not been released at this time, however police shared that the driver was a 27-year-old woman. The driver of the car remained at the scene of the accident until authorities arrived and showed no signs of impairment, according to Phoenix detective Luis Samudio.
Reily was thrown from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, Bell Road was closed in all directions between 29th Avenue and 32nd Avenue.
No charges have been filed at this time. While the crash remains under investigation, speed may have been a factor, police said in the release. It is unknown if he was impaired at the time.
