Police Investigate Fatal ATV Crash That Led to Jesus Lamadrid’s Death

A fatal ATV-car crash which happened during the weekend in Tucson, Arizona, is under investigation by the Tucson Police Department. The incident took place on the morning of Sunday, May 24, as per the accident reports.

TPD officers and fire operatives with the Tucson Fire Department responded to a call of a collision between an unoccupied car and an all-terrain vehicle. It happened near the 800 block of West Calle Aragon, on the southside. One person ended up dead as a result.

Investigations conducted on the scene confirmed the fatal victim, Jesus Lamadrid, 23, was traveling on the westbound side of the roadway. Police said he was the rider and sole occupant of a 2008 Suzuki Quadsport, moving at high speeds. The man suddenly lost control of his four-wheeled vehicle, which tossed him onto the roadway.

The ATV then continued skidding down the road and smashed into a vehicle parked on the side of the street, before crashing into a wooden fence. The rider, who was not wearing a protective helmet at the time, suffered severe injuries. He succumbed to his wounds in the ambulance as medics transported him to a hospital, the accident reports stated.

Callers told investigators they arrived at the scene after noticing Lamadrid’s absence from an earlier party and found the man severely hurt. They also confirmed to officers that the fatal victim consumed some shots of alcohol at the party before riding out in his ATV.

The Tucson Police Traffic Investigations Unit officials are investigating the occurrence.
