Multi-Car Accident Seriously Injures 3 Children, 4 Adults In Avondale, Chicago


A morning car crash in the Chicago neighborhood of Avondale has left four adults and three children seriously injured.

Sometime near 8:00, the nine-vehicle accident occurred when a driver in a minivan ran a stoplight while speeding on W. School Road on Chicago’s Northwest Side. Multiple vehicles on Milwaukee Ave. were unable to avoid the van, causing the crash. Vehicles struck a nearby building, with some catching fire.

In all, four adults and three children were taken to nearby hospitals. Two of the children were listed in serious-to-critical condition.

Chicago Police have not announced if any charges will be filed in the incident.
