SUV Overturns on Freeway

An SUV flipped over Friday morning on the southbound I-5 south of Culver Drive, causing blockage along the carpool lane, CHP officers said. The incident involved a white Ford Explorer, and was reported at 10:47 a.m. The accident was caused when the Explorer hit the center divider, said CHP officer Tim Zaspal after reporting to the scene. A SigAlert was issued for the carpool lane north of Jeffery Road in order to clear the wreckage, and was cancelled about an hour after the accident was reported. The driver was taken away in an ambulance as a precautionary measure.
