Julio Perez Identified as the Man Killed in San Jose Crash

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office, on Friday, May 29, identified the victim of a two-vehicle crash in South San Jose, California. Accident reports say that the victim’s name is Julio Perez, aged 37.

The crash occurred just before midnight on Tuesday, May 26, near Bernal Road and Realm Drive. In a statement, San Jose Police officer, Gina Tepoorten, said that Perez was crossing the road when the accident happened.

While crossing the road, a Honda Accord and a Nissan Frontier struck him. Responding officers and medics arrived at the crash location and rushed the victim to a hospital. They pronounced him dead as soon as he arrived at the medical facility. No further information is available at this time.

Motorists must be alert and vigilant at all times when driving. Apart from being safety conscious, they must also watch out for other vehicles and pedestrians when driving. Before turning at intersections, or entering into new streets, drivers must look out for motorcyclists and pedestrians.

Pedestrians, on the other hand, must be careful when crossing the road. They must only cross the street after checking that there are no oncoming vehicles. They must always use crosswalks when crossing the road, and always obey traffic lights.

Accident reports show that a lot of crashes involving pedestrians occur as a result of negligence on the part of motorists and pedestrians alike. All road users must play their part and take extra caution to avert these collisions and make the roads safe for everyone.
