Daunte Kiseem Arrested After Carjacking, Police Chase, and Car Crash in Atlanta

The Atlanta Police Force, Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday, March 3rd, arrested a man suspected of carjacking and crashing the vehicle after a police chase. He has been identified as Daunte Kiseem, 17.

The accident occurred in southwest Atlanta. According to the police, they received a call at about 12:30 p.m. to be on the lookout for a black Dodge Dart which was carjacked by someone in an orange hoodie —  Kiseem.

Afterwards, a Capitol Police officer spotted the car while doing a patrol check in the 1100-block of Murphy Avenue. The officer then made a U-turn, started following the vehicle, and tried to get Kiseem to stop at a traffic light.

Rather than stopping, the teenager turned to the eastbound road on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. From there, the young man drove south on Metropolitan Parkway.

At that point, the officer performed a PIT manoeuvre, which caused the Dodge to spin and crash into a cable post and chain-linked fence. Kiseem ran from the car with little or no visible injuries and hid behind a thick brush along the South River.

He later came out of it, and the police tracked him down to beneath the crawl space of an empty home along Pomona Circle. Kiseem is still in custody, and the police have not charged him with an offense.

The police chase had the Metropolitan Parkway closed off with law enforcement officers. The crash left the Dodge wrecked, and it was still sitting at the scene of the accident when the police took Kiseem into custody.
