The man who was killed in a crash on Monday evening, April 13, in Clayton County, Georgia, has been identified by the police. Authorities unveiled the fatal victim’s identity on Tuesday, April 14, as 27-year-old Derek Paul Lewis, as stated in the accident reports.
According to the Clayton County Police, the fatal collision occurred at about 6 pm on the said date. Officers responded to the area of Riverdale Road and Garden Walk Boulevard following reports of traffic disruption.
Responding officers discovered at least one wrecked vehicle on the crash site, with one casualty, Derek Lewis, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigating officers did not immediately release the details of the crash. However, it was determined that a motorcycle might have been involved.
Following the accident, several police vehicles, and no fewer than two wreckers arrived at the scene to effect cleanup and investigations.
As a result, all traffic lanes on Riverdale Road, and Garden Walk Boulevard were shut down for hours and reopened at about 1 a.m. the next day.
