Four-Year-Old Killed in Colquitt County Crash Identified as Haylon Foster

The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating a single-car accident that took place on the morning of February 19. Reports indicate that the accident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. in Colquitt County.

The driver was identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey McClelland. According to the Georgia State Patrol, McClelland is being charged with vehicular homicide and several other traffic charges after one of the passengers in his car died. Troopers are investigating whether McClelland was driving under the influence.

Two 4-year-old passengers were riding in the car with McClelland when the accident occurred. The relationship of the passengers to McClelland has not been disclosed.

One passenger was identified as Haylon Foster. Foster was taken to an area hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries. The other passenger, whose identity has not been released, sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. At this time, the condition of that child remains unknown.

The accident occurred on Albert Brady Road in Lenox, a small town in Colquitt County just under ten miles from Tifton. Troopers have yet to release the details that led up to the crash. This is a developing story and will be updated as the Georgia State Patrol releases additional information.
