Four victims of a solo-vehicle crash which took place along Interstate 40 in Cumberland County, Georgia, escaped the tragic occurrence unscathed, police confirmed. The traffic accident happened after midday on Friday, March 13.
According to a representative of the county’s police department, Trooper David Jones, the incident involved a single vehicle which was conveying four passengers through the state route.
It was disclosed that the crash victims were travelling west in a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by a 45-year-old male resident of Forsyth County, Georgia.
Just as the vehicle approached a construction zone near the 333-mile marker, it did a swift manoeuvre to avoid backed up traffic resulting from the ongoing works.
The move caused the four-passenger car to drift off the road, and crash into an embankment, halting only after it encountered a guard rail in its path.
Authorities disclosed that the four occupants of the 2019 Volkswagen, who were firmly secured within their seat belts at the time of the almost deadly encounter, emerged from the wreck unharmed.
Two of the survivors were identified by the Cumberland County officers as 45-year-old Lynette E. Ring, who was the vehicle’s operator, and 18-year-old August Ring. The other two passengers were reportedly juveniles, whose names were not disclosed.
Gratefully, no casualties were recorded in the Cumberland County accident. Investigators affirmed that the Volkswagen was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
No further information was disclosed regarding the incident.
