The services of a car accident lawyer would be required following the arrest of a 20-year-old woman, Cassandra Elizabeth Cox. Authorities arrested Cassandra on April 21 because of her connection to a fatal car crash that occurred in Augusta, Georgia.
The crash occurred a few blocks east of Peach Orchard Road, and about a mile south of Interstate 520, on April 12. It led to the death of a 21-year-old man, Jack Ryle Jr.
Authorities said that both vehicles were traveling southbound on Old Louisville Road and reaching Satcher Boulevard. The suspect was driving the car in front and had just left the home of the deceased’s mother.
When Cassandra got close to Satcher Boulevard, she realized that she forgot an item where she was coming from and started making a U-turn. The suspect claimed that she turned around and looked both ways as she began to turn left. However, the deceased’s vehicle struck the left front of her car.
Ryle, whose car continued to move south at 20 feet before finally stopping, was thrown more than 65 feet out of the moving vehicle. He died at 6:09 a.m. the following day at Augusta University Medical Center. The Richmond County Coroner’s Office said that his death was as a result of blunt-force trauma.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said that Cassandra’s arrest is based on suspicion of misdemeanor homicide by vehicle and improper U-turn when unsafe. This makes her need for a car accident lawyer urgent.
There is no further available information regarding the suspect’s arrest and the accident at this time.
