Police Chase Ends in Death of Adam Clane Boney in Bulloch County Traffic Collision

Georgia State Patrol confirmed the death of a suspected car thief who encountered a tragic crash while fleeing police in Bulloch County, Georgia. The fatal incident took place on Monday, April 20, according to the accident reports supplied by the GSP.

The incident kicked off when the alleged car thief tried to evade a traffic stop in Emanuel County on Monday afternoon.

According to Sgt. T. Cain of the GSP, the suspect was operating a silver BMW that matched the description of one reported stolen earlier in Cobb County when he approached a police checkpoint.

Upon sighting the stationed officers, the motorist, identified as Adam Clane Boney, 36, of Darien drove off the location at a high rate of speed.

Deputies of the Emanuel County and Candler County who were present at the time immediately went after Boney, trying to match his speed of 100 miles an hour.

Police said the fleeing motorist evaded several stop sticks on his path, meant to flatten tires as he drove towards Bulloch County. Sheriff’s deputies in Bulloch County joined the chase, deploying more stop sticks at the 119-mile marker.

In an attempt to evade them, Boney’s vehicle crashed on the roadway, fatally injuring him in the process. He was the only occupant of the car, according to the accident reports.

The deceased reportedly had multiple outstanding license violations and warrants. In addition, police discovered the controlled substance, methamphetamine, in his possession when the car was searched.
