Milton Long

The Georgia State Police on Thursday, February 27th, disclosed the name of the driver who caused the accident on Interstate 95. He is 77-year-old Milton Lee Long of Cooper City, Florida.

According to the police report, Long was driving on the wrong way on Sunday, February 23rd, while traveling on I-95. The accident occurred midway at about 2 a.m., and it took the life of the Florida native and a family-of-five.

The deceased was driving south in the northbound lanes in a Lexus. The car collided with a Nissan Rogue head-on, carrying the group that later got identified as the Robinson family.

The latter included a couple, Sara, 41, and Nathan, 37, as well as their three children, Rebecca, 13, Stephen, 12, and Alexander, 4. They were all pronounced dead at the scene.

Long also died at the scene, and his next of kin got notified by the police. Investigations into the accident are still ongoing, and the police do not believe that the Lexus driver was impaired in any way.

The authorities also uncovered that the victims of the crash were all wearing seatbelts. However, the cars were so wrecked that the occupants could not have survived.

The wreckage also led to the closure of the northbound lanes for over three hours while the Georgia State Patrol cleared the road. The relatives of the Robinsons have been notified and are mourning their dead.

The late family are from Portsmouth, Virginia, and were going home from a family trip. They were essential members of their community and would be missed.
