Quenton Carter and Tiffany Adkins Killed in Head-on Collision in Savannah

Two people were killed in a traffic collision involving two vehicles on Interstate 516 in Savannah, Georgia. According to the accident reports provided by the Savannah Police Department, the fatal crash took place on Monday, April 13.

Police officers were deployed to I-516, near Augusta Road, shortly after 8:25 pm, following reports of a collision between a Toyota Rav 4 and a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Investigators gathered that the operator of the Chevrolet was driving northbound through the south traffic lanes on the interstate when he crashed into the Southbound Toyota traveling in the right lane.

The impact of the head-on collision caused serious damages to the two cars. A passenger in the Toyota, whose name was disclosed as Quenton Carter, 41 suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders also confirmed the Chevrolet driver dead, from injuries sustained. The deceased motorist was later identified as 33-year-old Tiffany Adkins. No other fatality was reported as a result of the tragic wreck.

The accident reports failed to ascertain whether impairment by drugs or alcohol was a factor in the fatal collision.

The crash shut down the south travel lanes on Interstate 516 for hours while the two wrecked vehicles were towed away.

The incident remains under investigation by the TIU to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the deaths of Carter and Adkins.
