The victim of a two-vehicle accident in Carrollton, Georgia, has been reported dead five days after the ghastly accident took place. The elderly man, who remained severely injured and hospitalized following the crash, succumbed to his failing health on Monday, March 2.
The crash victim, identified as Thomas Greer, a renowned Carrollton attorney, met his fate on Monday afternoon, as announced by a colleague and fellow attorney, Erica Tisinger. According to the Greer Tisinger Law Firm co-founder, the deceased’s passing was peaceful.
Family members of the Carrollton attorney also confirmed his death on an online page dedicated to his last moments, while releasing details of the late 70-year-old’s funeral arrangements.
Reports released by the Georgia State Patrol affirmed that the car crash leading to the elderly man’s death happened on Friday, February 28, in Carroll County, Georgia. The accident involved a Carrollton City School Bus and the vehicle driven by the local attorney.
The school bus was travelling westbound on Ga. 166, while Greer’s car maintained the east lane. The driver of the bus, Tonya Morris, attempted to turn left without yielding for the traffic on the east lane, thereby obstructing the path of the eastbound traffic.
The victim, who was not using a seat belt at the time, bumped into the side of the turning vehicle almost immediately, leaving him down with major injuries.
Carroll County troopers responded to the incident shortly after, and the injured man was transported to the hospital for treatment. The deceased’s family supplied that the longtime Carrollton attorney was later transferred to Atlanta Medical Center, where he remained until his death.
Investigations into the accident have been in the works to determine if indeed the driver’s failure to yield for the eastbound traffic was responsible for the crash.
