Valerie Watts and Antwan Maleek Jamerson Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision in Redmond Circle

A fatal crash which took place in Rome, Georgia, left at least three casualties in its wake. The deadly wreck, which was reported on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 21, may require the expertise of a car accident lawyer.

The tragic accident happened on Redwood Circle, and involved at least two vehicles which collided head-on, police said.

One of the vehicles was conveying a family of three, including a mother, her husband, and her 18-year-old son, the reports confirmed.

The mother, identified as Valerie Watts, 52, was the driver of a G-Series Infinity car, which was traveling south on the freeway, with the teenager on the backseat, and 49-year-old Thomas Watts, riding in the front passenger seat.

Another vehicle, an F-350 driven by Ronnie Barker, 36, on Lindale, was heading north on the same route. While in transit, the northbound vehicle for unknown reasons crossed the dividing line, veering into the south traffic.

As a result, it collided with the southbound Infinity, which reportedly had Alabama tags. The impact caused the struck vehicle to flip over severally before bursting into flames.

Valerie Watts and her teenage son, Antwan Maleek Jamerson, were both killed in the tragic wreck, while Thomas survived the tragedy, with critical injuries. First responders transported the injured man to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the driver of the F350 was not harmed in the collision.

A crime scene reconstruction carried out by GBI would determine whether or not charges would be filed, as well as the nature of the charges.

Anyone involved in a car accident is advised to seek legal counsel from a car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
