Willie E. Sebastian Injured in Clark County Crash


Three individuals were injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place in the Clark County. One of the injured victims sustained critical injuries. The incident happened on the evening of Monday, March 16.

According to the details shared by the Illinois State Police, the accident took place on the Illinois 1 close to the Blizzard Road. It involved two vehicles. One of these was a 2014 Toyota Corolla. Jessie Cooper, 26, of Terre Haute, Indiana was driving the Toyota Corolla. Cooper also had one other passenger with him in the Corolla at the time.

Driving southbound on the Illinois 1, Cooper disregarded a number of stop signs set up by the Illinois Department of Transportation. He then drove into a restricted construction zone. It was then that his vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The other vehicle was a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Willie E. Sebastian, 65, also of Terre Haute, Indiana was riding the Cruiser at the time of the collision.

In the wake of the crash, Cooper, Sebastian and the passenger in Cooper’s vehicle, all sustained injuries. Sebastian sustained the most serious injuries. He was rushed to an area hospital. The passenger in Cooper’s vehicle was identified as Linda Hope, 25, of Paris, Illinois. Both Cooper and Hope sustained non-critical injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Illinois State Police charged Cooper with a number of violations. These include DUI drugs, driving without insurance, disobeying a flagger and failure to reduce the speed of a vehicle to avoid accident.
