Ana Verduzco Sustains Injuries after Bicycle Accident in Oak Cliff

A 34-year-old woman identified as Ana Verduzco sustained multiple injuries after a vehicle hit her on Tuesday night, May 19, at Oak Cliff, Texas. Accident reports revealed that the woman was riding her bicycle when the collision occurred.

Verduzco was riding and approached the intersection of Westmoreland Road and Clarendon Drive. She stopped at the intersection and waited for the signal on the pedestrian crossing, after which she continued riding across the street.

While she was crossing the road, a vehicle turned right from Westmoreland onto Clarendon. The car struck Verduzco’s bicycle at the intersection, causing her to flip over.

After the collision, the driver of the vehicle stopped to assist the victim. Another woman identified as Lily also helped to move Verduzco off the middle of the street to a safe place. The good Samaritan also called emergency response officials to notify them of the crash.

Verduzco sustained injuries to her hip, leg, and head, for which she received treatment. No further information about the crash is available at this time.

Motorists must look out for pedestrians and other road users when turning at intersections. Pedestrians must always look carefully for oncoming vehicles before crossing and must cross only when the roadway is clear.

Motorists must drive slowly in places that have heavy pedestrian and vehicular activity. Accident reports show that many crashes occur due to negligence on the part of drivers and pedestrians alike. Drivers must obey all traffic laws and regulations, be at alert, and drive safely at all times.
