An update on the accident reports provided by the Tyler Police Department concerning a pedestrian fatality on W Gentry Parkway in Tyler, Texas, has been released. The additional reports, released on Tuesday, May 5, listed the fatal victim’s name as Christian Gilstrap, a 22-year-old resident of Tyler.

The tragic incident was first reported at about 10:10 pm on Monday, May 4, prompting the Tyler Police Department to send an emergency response team to the location. The crash reportedly took place at the 1900-block of  W Gentry Parkway, where officers said they found the pedestrian sprawled unresponsive on the roadway.

Accounts obtained from road users who witnessed the incident ascertained that Gilstrap was on the verge of crossing the road to the other side of the highway when he was struck. The vehicle involved was reportedly traveling through the eastbound traffic lanes of W Gentry at moderate speed prior to the collision.
