San Marcos Solo Crash Kills Destiny Bridges and Sean Thompson

The city of San Marcos, Texas, on Sunday, May 24th, disclosed that two people died in an accident that took place on one of its roadways. The accident report revealed the name of the victims as Destiny Bridges, 24, and Sean Thompson, 31, the driver’s husband.

The two alongside eight others were occupants of a white 2002 passenger Ford Explorer traveling in the 200-block of northbound Interstate 1-35. The preliminary accident report disclosed that the vehicle rolled several times, before veering off the roadway, and landing on the east access road.

City officials said the impact of the crash caused nine out of the ten people traveling in the Ford to get ejected. Bridges’ life ended at the scene, and the medics pronounced her dead, while Thompson lived long enough to make it to the hospital. Sadly, he passed away while undergoing treatment.

The report showed that five out of the nine ejected persons are children, and three aged between 7 and 9-year-old sustained severe injuries. The medics rushed them to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, where they remain in a critical and unstable condition.

The remaining two children did not sustain wounds that required medical care. Three of the injured adults received treatment at Seton Ascension Hospital in Kyle. The accident report did not state whether the driver sustained any injuries, but the authorities believe that the motorist was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

The San Marcos Police investigators believe that a blown tire and speed contributed to the accident, and they also uncovered that the vehicle was suited for only five passengers. The investigation remains active.
