Christopher Griggs, Robert Avery Identified After Crashing into a House and Fleeing the Scene

According to incident reports, two people were arrested last week after a crash that occurred in Houston County. Their identities were released Tuesday.

The two suspects were identified Tuesday as 26-year-old Christopher Adam Griggs and 24-year-old Robert Manning Avery, according to the Houston County Sherriff’s Office.

The crash occurred when Griggs and Avery crashed into a Houston County home and then left the scene of the accident.

An incident report states that the accident happened on Moody Road in Bonaire. The two suspects crashed into the homeowner’s garage and three vehicles before fleeing the scene.

Documents from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office report that Griggs and Avery were taken into custody Friday February 21, 2020. Both posted bond on the same day of their arrest. The amount of the bond is unknown at this time.

Griggs is charged with aggressive driving, tampering with evidence and driving without insurance. Avery is charged with aggressive driving and reckless driving.

The homeowner, David Moore, was in Savannah when the accident happened. He reported that a neighbor called him on the night in question night about a suspicious noise coming from his home.

Moore drove back to Houston County immediately after the call and discovered the hole Griggs and Avery are accused of leaving in his garage. Investigators found a bumper among the damage that didn’t belong to Moore.
