The Atlanta Police Department found a Georgian man at fault following a Highway accident involving multiple vehicles, leaving fourteen road users injured. The man was arrested and kept in police custody pending the investigations.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Lynhurst Drive on Saturday, February 29, with several wrecked vehicles in tow.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, two separate vehicle accidents were reported a little after 7 p.m. on Saturday. Officers reported to the site and discovered the gruesome scenes were all connected to the same cause.

At least eight vehicles were involved in the crash on both Drives, with a total of fourteen people sustaining non-fatal injuries. The injured victims, including the suspected culprit, were transported to Grady Hospital shortly after the incident, and their injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening.

The City’s police commenced investigations on the multi-vehicle accident, determining a Georgian man, identified as Bryant Holyfield, as responsible for causing the series of collisions. The suspected motorist failed field sobriety test, confirming he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 46-year-old culprit was charged with DUI, less safe, reckless driving, following too closely and failure to maintain lane. In addition, the suspect was also faulted for driving without possessing a driver’s license.

The arrested man was taken to the Grady Hospital’s detention center, where he was detained by the police, to be transferred to the Fulton County Jail once he was ascertained medically fit to leave the health facility.
