Police Release New Details about Interstate 675 Accident that Killed David Robert James

The police in Clayton County, Georgia, on Wednesday, March 11th, released new details about the fatal crash that claimed the life of David Robert James, 21. The young man died from the injuries he sustained from the accident.

The police said that on Tuesday, March 10th, James found a stolen pickup truck belonging to a friend parked on Interstate 675. The car was stolen at DeKalb County, and the police have not uncovered how the deceased found the vehicle.

At about 4 p.m., James decided to confront the person driving the pickup, and what followed, the police believe,  was an altercation between the two. The deceased and the driver ended up crashing into the woods, and the pickup ended up on top of the Lincoln LS the young man was driving.

James was trapped inside his vehicle and died before the authorities arrived. The truck driver fled the scene, and the police commenced a search for him, leading to the closure of G.S. 42.

The roadway was closed until about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The authorities have still not located the suspect, and the search for him is still ongoing.

The police also found a stolen Yamaha motorcycle among the wreckage of the vehicles. It was strapped to the bed of the pickup and was stolen out of Clayton County.

The police are still investigating and have not released any more information. They have asked anyone with helpful information on the identity of the suspect and his whereabouts to contact the police station.
