Los Angeles fog proved dangerous this morning, as a 50 vehicle pile up occurred in the heavy fog on Interstate 15. The sizeable accident, which took place at approximately 7:30 AM near the summit of Cajon Pass, was also the site of many injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities occurred during the accident.
According to officials from California Highway Patrol, the car accident involved nearly 50 cars and trucks, as well as a motorcycle. The extent of the car accident stretched a half-mile down the northbound lanes of Interstate 15.
The majority of the injured were transported to local hospitals, but five others were sent away after treatment from on-site paramedics at the accident. As a result of the fog, paramedics were forced to use ambulances rather than helicopters despite the ruckus of the extensive pileup. No reports have been made concerning the extent of these injuries.
