Thomas Heinzelmann

A man died this week from injuries suffered in a traffic collision in Parker, Arizona. Accident reports provided by the Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed that the incident took place early on Thursday morning, June 11.

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office deployed officers to the crash site at precisely 5:39 a.m. on reports of a collision on State Route 95. The Buckskin Fire Department also responded at the location, near the Harbour Inn Motel on 4749 N. Highway 95.

Chief Troy Maloney of the Buckskin Fire stated in a report that firefighters found one person critically injured when they arrived. The accident victim was at the time suffering a cardiac arrest. They immediately applied life-saving measures to save the victim’s life to no avail. Medical personnel pronounced the man deceased a few minutes later, Maloney said.

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office later identified the victim as Pacen Scoggin, a resident of Parker, and a 2018 graduate of the Parker High School. DPS officials did not immediately establish the circumstances leading to the crash. The reports also did not indicate whether Scoggin was traveling as a driver or a passenger in the wrecked vehicle, or if other casualties resulted from the accident.

The accident reports showed that officials from the American Medical Response also assisted in the operation.

The incident remains under investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
