The Tucson Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle collision that happened Monday afternoon and killed one person.
Officials released the name of the woman killed in Tucson’s south side crash as Tiffany Duarte.
According to a news release from the Tucson Police Department, Tiffany Duarte, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of East Valencia Road and South Country Club Road.
Around 1 p.m., on February 24, Duarte was driving a Jeep Patriot west on Valencia Road. While making a left turn to head south on Country Club Road, her vehicle collided with a Volkswagen Jetta headed east, according to police reports.
The driver of the Jetta stopped and cooperated with the investigation. That driver’s identity has not yet been released.
According to Tucson police spokesman Officer Ray Smith, two people were taken to the Banner-University Medical Center with injuries determined not to be life-threatening. It is unclear at this time in which vehicle these two individuals were traveling.
The investigation is ongoing and no citations have been issued at this time, police said. Police say speed was not a factor in the crash and a DUI officer said the driver of the Jetta was not impaired.
