Accident Involving a Lexus Causes Head Trauma, Injury

An accident on the corner of Harvard Avenue and Center Drive culminated in a head injury after a woman was hit by a Lexus. The car accident occurred just after 10 p.m.  shortly after the woman attempted to cross Irvine Center Drive.  Before she could get to the other side of the street, she was struck by a Lexus ES 350 sedan that was heading west. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the accident. At press time, the woman was said to have sustained head injury but the severity of the injury was not known.

When a pedestrian knock down accident like the one above occurs, legally speaking the vehicle driver is  almost always at fault.  This is because pedestrians have the right-of-way, even if they are jaywalking.  Of course, certain behaviors may mitigate a driver’ culpability, but the fact remains that vigilant drivers will most likely avoid hitting a pedestrian.
