Officials have released the name of the woman killed in a multi-vehicle crash earlier this week as Jeannette W. Snow. Jeannette Snow was 77 years old and the spouse of a military retiree. Snow’s identity was withheld at the time of the crash until next of kin could be notified.
The fatal crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred at Fort Gordon, which is located just a few miles southwest of Augusta. The accident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on February 19 when the driver of a vehicle entering Fort Gordon’s Gate 5 lost control and slammed into a concrete wall. The same vehicle then crashed into two other vehicles that were also entering the same gate at Fort Gordon.
Three other people were injured in the crash. Those three people and Snow were all taken to Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Snow later died, one person was treated for injuries and the other two people were admitted for observation. The status of the three survivors is unknown at this time.
At this time, the reason for the crash has not been disclosed. For reasons unknown, the name of the driver has yet to be released.
The investigation by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division is ongoing at this time.
