A fatal accident which took place over the weekend, involving an ATV in Polk County, Georgia, left a vehicle operator dead, and his single passenger injured. The crash took place on Saturday, April 11, and may require the intervention of auto accident attorneys.
Reporting the accident, the Polk County Coroner, Tony Blazer, divulged that at about 8:46 pm, a call came in, reporting a tragic crash on Johnson’s Lake Road in the Redmond area.
Responding officers found a wrecked Polaris Razar by an ATV on the roadway, with its two occupants critically injured.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the all-terrain vehicle was traveling through the roadway when it negotiated a curve at high speed. As a result, the vehicle swerved off the road and spiraled into a ditch before it capsized violently, expelling its two occupants in the process.
First responders rescued the two victims from the wreck and transported them to health facilities for treatment.
While the passenger, Amber Timm, a 20-year-old female, resident in Cedartown, was taken to Regional Medical Center by Redmond EMS, the ATV operator was rushed to Floyd Polk Medical Center.
The driver, James Hunter Dickinson, 23, from Silver Creek, was admitted into an emergency room to stabilize his condition. He eventually went into traumatic arrest, and later died at the facility. Dickinson was pronounced dead at about 11:46 pm on the same day, and the cause of death disclosed as blunt force trauma.
