A motorist was issued two citations following a ghastly traffic wreck on Monday afternoon in Warren County, Georgia, that left at least eight people injured. The incident, which took place on Monday, April 6, calls for the legal intervention of a car injury lawyer.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that three eastbound vehicles encountered an accident near the mile marker 164 on Interstate 20. One of the vehicles was a camper trailer being pulled by a Ford F-150 Superscrew driven by Gulherme Strougo, 40, of Acworth.
A second vehicle, a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, travelling on the left traffic lane, suddenly drifted into the right lane and struck the camper trailer from behind.
The impact of the collision caused the Ford driver to lose control of the truck and trailer. The two vehicles veered off the right shoulder of the road and rolled over, with the rear of the Ford resting partially on top of the trailer.
Following the mishap, the caravan drifted off the right side of the road and overcorrected back into the roadway, where it again slammed into a commercial trailer. The right front of the van got hinged underneath the trailer, dragged a bit, before getting knocked off the side of the road.
Officers from the Warren and McDuffie counties responded to the tragic wreck. Strougo and four passengers in the Ford Pickup suffered injuries.
While the driver was treated on the scene, Warren County EMS transported his passengers, including two juveniles aged 7 and 9, and a 35-year-old woman to University Hospital, McDuffie.
The McDuffie County EMS transported the caravan operator, Angela E. Duku, 44, of Jonesboro, and her two teenage passengers to Doctors Hospital for treatment of their severe injuries.
Duku was issued two citations, including failure to maintain lane and no proof of insurance.
It is important that victims of car accidents seek legal counsel from a car injury lawyer. That way, the case can be assessed appropriately, and the maximum compensation for damages can be assured.
