Isaac Hammond Arrested After Robbing McDonald’s, Crashing His Vehicle in Roswell

Roswell Police Department confirmed the arrest of a man who allegedly robbed a McDonald’s at gunpoint, and fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived in Roswell, Georgia. According to the accident reports, the suspect, Isaac Hammond, was apprehended after crashing his car during his flight on the morning of Sunday, May 3.

Officers responded to a robbery at the McDonald’s restaurant on 2950 Holcomb Bridge Road. Employees described the vehicle the suspect fled in as a red Mustang.

Shortly after, one of the responding officers sighted the described vehicle near the area of Holcomb Woods Parkway, a few blocks from the robbery location.

The officer tried to get a closer look for more precise identification. Upon realizing he had been made, the suspect sped away at a high rate of speed. He barely drove a few miles when he lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a large commercial sign at the Holcomb Woods business park.

The motorist, identified as Isaac Hammond, 23, of Fort Benning, abandoned the crashed vehicle, and fled the scene on foot, venturing into a nearby treeline.

As stated in the accident reports, officers combed the area and found the suspect crawling among the bushes in a Roswell residence.

Hammond was arrested without further fuss, on suspicion of hit-and-run, fleeing police, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, overspeeding, wrong-way driving, and reckless driving.
