A fatal accident that took place over the weekend after a family vehicle crashed along Interstate 475 in Macon, Georgia, left a 3-year-old child dead. The traffic wreck which injured two others happened on Sunday afternoon, March 19, and may require the involvement of an auto accident attorney.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported that at about 2 pm, a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old man identified as Jordan Fields of Dothan, Alabama spiraled out of control and hit a guardrail.

Investigators determined that the vehicle conveying at least three passengers was traveling northbound on Interstate 75. Just as it joined the I-475 North, Fields lost control of the car for unknown reasons.

The impact of the collision caused the 4-occupant vehicle to flip over, discharging two of its passengers in the process, including 3-year-old Justice McGriff and a 4-year-old child.

Justice suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead by paramedics. The children’s mom, Lewanna Mcgriff, 31, of Macon, was also present in the car at the time of the crash and suffered critical injuries.

The mother, along with the remaining two occupants who also sustained injuries, were rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The trio have since been listed in critical conditions.

Authorities are actively investigating the fatal traffic wreck.

Auto accident attorneys are needed in this type of situation. Their involvement would ensure that the victims are appropriately represented, and the best possible outcome is secured.
