Police Name Michael Baker as Fatal Victim of Grayson Solo-Vehicle Crash


In the updated reports of a car accident which happened earlier this week in Grayson, Georgia, authorities disclosed the name of the motorist who ended up dead. The Gwinnett Police Department, on Wednesday, May 20, revealed the fatal victim’s name as Michael Baker, a 52-year-old resident of Gwinnett.

The fatal accident took place on Tuesday evening, May 19. According to the Gwinnett Police, officers responded to a solo crash on Bennett Road, a few miles from Reserve Drive shortly before 6 p.m. Police said one man lost his life in the crash.

Preliminary reports suggested the fatal victim was traveling in a vehicle through the east lanes on Bennett Road, towards Reserve Drive. Baker failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway,  causing him to drive off the road and hit a tree.

The motorist suffered fatal injuries in the collision, and first responders pronounced him deceased at the scene. The reports did not state if Baker was traveling alone, or had a passenger.

Officers believe drugs, alcohol or speed may have contributed to the fatal crash,   which remains under investigation. No other detail is available at this time.

Motorists should endeavor to desist from consuming alcohol or other controlled substances before hitting the road. Driving within the permissible speed limit and paying attention to the surroundings when driving is also helpful in curbing traffic accidents.
