Two casualties were recorded on Tuesday morning after two vehicles collided at an intersection on Ga. Highway 53, in Dawson County, Georgia. The liability of the crash, which occurred on Tuesday, April 7, is yet to be established and may require the involvement of a car accident lawyer before further evaluations.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the fatal collision took place around 9 am, just east of Ga. Highway 183, and left one of the victims dead, and the other injured.
Investigating officers deduced that one of the victims, identified as James White, was driving a Dodge Ram truck eastbound on State Route 43.
Just as he approached a road bend, the Dodge operator attempted a right curve, leading his vehicle to cross the center line instead, colliding with an oncoming Ford Focus.
As a result of the impact, the truck rolled over, coming to rest on its roof, while the Ford Focus suffered severe damages.
Emergency responders attempted to rescue both victims but discovered that the driver of the Ford, who was restrained by a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries.
The other motorist was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of his serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The police said White was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Authorities identified the deceased motorist as Tyler Fried, a 31-year-old Gainesville resident. No other information was released regarding the wreck.
No charges have been filed since the fatality was reported as the liability remains unclear.
It is advisable that the expertise of a car accident lawyer is sought in the event of a traffic accident such as this one.
