UPDATE: Pedestrians Killed in Downtown Connector Crash Identified as the Alvarado-Bonilla Twins

Joshua Cook

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office on April 22, identified the two deceased victims of a hit-and-run accident in Downtown Connector, Atlanta, Georgia. The deceased names are the Alvarado-Bonilla Twins, Jose Armalo, and Jose Camillo, both aged 21. 25-year-old Jose Garcia-Trujillo killed both men in an accident and will be needing a car accident lawyer.

The Atlanta Police reports that the twins were traveling on the northbound lanes near Edgewood Avenue on April 20 when they had an accident. They stepped down from their vehicle to check the damage that the car they were traveling in suffered from the accident.

While doing this, the brothers got hit by a Ford Explorer that was traveling down that same road and died on the spot. The Ford Explorer didn’t stop to check what happened but continued to drive. Police officers arrived at the scene of the crash a few minutes after 5 a.m.

Officers were able to trace the Ford Explorer and located it later that morning close to I-85 and Piedmont Avenue. They also arrested the driver, Garcia-Trujillo, and charged him with vehicular homicide and hit-and-run. He was also charged with driving without a license and would require the service of a car accident lawyer.

The suspect remains detained at the Fulton County Jail on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Agency hold.

The Police also advised that people involved in accidents or with broken-down vehicles on roads should resist the urge to move out of the vehicle if they can’t move it to the side of the road. Walking around the road after an accident is ill-advised because the highway is a dangerous place.
