State of Michigan authorities said a man was killed in a two-vehicle head-on wreck early Friday morning in Ogemaw County.
Timothy Guoan, 20, of Rose City, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in Cumming Township, according to the Michigan State Police. The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the wreck, including a 10-month-old infant, also were injured, car accident reports state.
Police said Guoan was driving north on Michigan 33 at about 2:30 a.m. Friday when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the highway’s centerline. Guoan’s vehicle struck a southbound vehicle head-on, causing “catastrophic damage,” according to a police press release.
Guoan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by emergency medical personnel. Car accident reports state the other driver and her two passengers suffered injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening.
The occupants of other vehicle were not identified in car accident reports available Friday evening.
The crash still is under investigation by the Michigan State Police. Authorities have not said whether they believe intoxication, inattentive driving or speed might have caused Guoan to lose contrl of his vehicle or otherwise contributed to the wreck.
No charges or citations have been issued in connection to the incident. Additional details will be released in future car accident reports.
