Metro Police Investigating Two Fatal Pedestrian Accidents

Two families could soon be seeking the services of a Nevada car accident lawyer.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol are investigating two collisions that resulted in the deaths of pedestrians on Monday night.

The first accident was a hit and run that took place in the area of Tropicana and Nellis a little after 8 p.m. Police say the vehicle involved was a red or orange SUV and it could have been a Chevy Tahoe.

The unnamed victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, but they succumbed to their injuries.

Anyone who may have information on this crash has been asked to call Metro Police or Crimestoppers at 702-385-5555. Information can also be sent to www.crimestoppersofnv.com. Individuals can opt to stay anonymous.

Meanwhile, the second crash occurred about two hours later near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Police report that a woman was hit by a tractor-trailer near the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard. Police say she was not using a crosswalk. The woman died on the spot.

Unlike the first driver, this motorist stayed on the scene and cooperated with the police. The individual did not seem to be impaired.

It is not yet known if the person is facing citations or charges.

However, wrongful death cases are not dependent on criminal charges. The victim’s family may get advice from a car accident lawyer.

When the victims’ names are released by the authorities, additional accident reports will be published with the updated information.
