Authorities Name Haley and Hannah Underwood as Teens Killed in Johnson County Crash

On Tuesday, May 26th, the authorities in Johnson County, Texas, released the names of the teens who died in a single-vehicle crash during the weekend. In the update to the car accident report, they disclosed their names as Haley and Hannah Underwood, 17.

The sisters suffered the sad fate after the car they were traveling in with their mother, Barbara Underwood, crashed on Sunday afternoon, May 24th, south of Fort Worth. The investigators said that the accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. close to a small bridge south of Happy Trail Road near Alvarado.

Haley, Hannah, and their mother were precisely on Country Road 604 in a Ford Escape. The crash report showed that the vehicle veered off the road to the left and crashed into the guardrail. An eyewitness, Georgianna Coffman told investigators that the car was severely wrecked from the collision.

The teenage sisters suffered fatal injuries that claimed their lives at the scene, and the medics pronounced them dead. Barbara sustained life-threatening injuries and she is in critical condition at John Peter Smith Hospital.

The deceased and their mother lived in Alvarado, and the girls attended the local high school. Hannah Underwood would have graduated with her classmates on June 5th, while Haley just finished her junior year.

The car accident report showed that the district made a crisis counselor available to the girls’ classmates and teachers. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing with the focus on the reason the Ford crashed.
