Two men have died from the injuries they received in a car crash on Monday night on East Oglethorpe Highway.

According to accident reports, the deceased are William Frasier, 31, and Gerald Garner, 25.

Garner was a soldier stationed at Fort Stewart. He died at the accident scene while Frasier passed away at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Markus White confirmed these details.

He said Frasier was driving his Dodge Dakota west in the eastbound lane of East Oglethorpe highway around 10:30 p.m. when he crashed head-on into Garner’s Chevy Malibu.

Both Frasier and a passenger in Garner’s car were taken to Memorial Health by medical helicopter. Frasier died shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

The passenger’s name and condition have not been released.

White said Garner was not buckled up while Frasier was wearing a seatbelt but not doing so correctly.

Meanwhile, there was secondary collision after this one. The driver of a tractor trailer didn’t see the wreck ahead of him and he sideswiped the Dodge.

The tractor trailer landed in a ditch, but the unnamed driver did not suffer any injuries.

The road was closed to traffic afterward and the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team was on the scene for several hours.
