14-Year-Old Driver, James Wilson, Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

A teenager was killed on Friday after his vehicle veered off the highway and flipped over on Daisy Adams Road in the Cochran area of Bleckley County, Georgia. The incident took place on the morning of Friday, March 20.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that the fatal crash happened on the north travel lane of the roadway at about 11 am, and involved a teenager who was below the legal driving age.

Officers received reports of a car crash on Daisy Adams Road, which left at least one victim fatally injured. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered the body of a 14-year-old male lying unconscious near a dented Chevy Pickup.

It was determined that the unlicensed teenager was travelling north in the black Chevy Pickup when for reasons yet unknown, he drove off the edge of the road but quickly steered in the opposite direction to maintain his lane.

However, the maneuver caused the driver to slip off the other side of the road and roll over. The teen driver was expelled from the vehicle in the process.

Medics responding to the crash alongside the state patrol pronounced the young boy dead at the scene.

The deceased, who was reportedly the only occupant of the Chevy, has since been identified as 14-year-old James Wilson from Bleckley County.

Officers of the Georgia State Patrol ascertained that the motorist was not restrained by a seat belt at the time of the accident.
