Misael Albear Villanueva Arrested for Attempting to Run Over Deputy and

A fugitive who made number two in Clayton County’s wanted list last month for allegedly trying to run over a sheriff’s deputy discharging his duties, and fleeing the scene at over 100 mph has been detained by the police. The man was arrested on the morning of Thursday, March 19, in Clayton County, Georgia, precisely three months after the failed attempt.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office revealed in a statement that the assault took place on December 19 last year. However, the precise location of the incident was not detailed in the report.

Police said the officer involved was manning a roadblock when the offender approached the checkpoint. The officer in question implored the motorist to pull over at a secondary checkpoint after detecting the stench of marijuana oozing out of his pickup.

Rather than comply, the truck driver gradually steered his vehicle forward, before suddenly accelerating in the direction of the officer on duty who was forced to clear off the path of the speeding car to avoid being hit.

The traffic offender then sped off the scene at over 100 mph, with no regard for traffic safety regulations. Although the aggressive driver, identified as Misael Albear Villanueva, evaded arrest at the time, he was declared No. 2 most wanted fugitive in the county in February and was eventually arrested.

He is being held at the Clayton County Jail on charges of aggravated assault against an officer, fleeing police, use of threats or violence, reckless driving and obstruction.
