Update: Kiara Stinner Arrested in Connection with Sandy Springs Hit-and-Run

Police in Sandy Springs say they have captured the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early on Sunday morning.

The driver is 31-year-old Kiara Stinner of Brunswick, Georgia, accident reports state.

He is accused of striking the victim of a car accident on Georgia 400.

Police say a black car hit a 2017 Hyundai Elantra near the MARTA entrance ramp around 12:40 a.m.

The Elantra was driven by 23-year-old Roswell resident Orlando St. Louis II. He was carrying two passengers.

Two people stopped to help the three individuals get out of the badly damaged car.

St. Louis’ passengers were able to make it into the Good Samaritans’ vehicle. However, as he walked towards the vehicle, he was struck by a 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan. 

According to accident reports, St. Louis died on the scene.

The driver of the minivan was later identified as Stinner.

Police say he lost control of his vehicle and hit St Louis when he overcorrected. A passenger in Stinner’s vehicle was reportedly injured.

Police say Stinner then fled the scene. His whereabouts were initially unknown, but he was taken into custody the next day.

He was booked into the Fulton County Jail after being charged with hit-and-run, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, serious injury by vehicle, and driving with a suspended license and.
