23-year-old Mary Rae Sanabria, an Oxnard native, was killed in a crash on Highway 23 at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The crash occurred north of Tierra Rejada Road in Moorpark. The cause of the crash remains unclear; however, it is known taht Sanabria’s vehicle was traveling north, most likely at a high speed, when her vehicle left the road, went up and embankment, and then flipped over and landed back in the road upside down.

Sanabria was partially ejected from the vehicle, and received fatal injuries. There was a dog in the car, who was uninjured. No other passengers were present in the vehicle, and no other cars were involved. However, two lanes of the road were blocked following the accident.
